Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

So, we’ve all heard of it. We know we need it to get us ahead of the competition but how do we do it properly?

There are different ways to approach it…

And different aspects of SEO. The first way though has to start with your website, with a friendly little plugin called Yoast SEO. There are others out there but personally this one has a really good free option and it’s relatively easy to use.

Each page, category, tag or post can have a keyword and the Yoast SEO tool can be used to ensure the relevant keyword is correctly used throughout the page. Overuse the keyword and Google won’t like it. Fill the content of your page/post with the keyword (keyword stuffing) and Google won’t like that either.

Each page/post should have at least one keyword which describes your business, service or product so that the keyword is naturally worked into the content. The Yoast SEO plugin tells you whether the SEO rating is good, ok or bad and it will tell you which areas need work.

Of course, it’s a good idea to tell Google and Bing that your site is there – they may find it on their own but by registering the site on Google & Bing webmaster tools, you stand more chance of the search engines finding your site earlier.

It all sounds expensive and confusing…

It doesn’t have to be. Able Web Design have a number of different SEO packages to suit any budget. There’s no contract either so you are in complete control of costs. For more information on our SEO packages, contact us at help@ablewebdesign.co.uk
